Christmas

I like Christmas. I like the feeling when you've done your shopping (or at least know what you're getting people) and written the cards, and now you just have to wait. And I particularly like satsumas. I haven't seen any this year, so I may have to go on a forage, because I don't think I can do a year without satsumas.

It seems very bizarre to think that I now only have a week and a half (of working time) until I move on from my job. It also seems impossible that I will manage to do all that I have to do in that time. I expect I will though; it does always seem to get done somehow or another.

I am reading Jacob's Room at the moment (having stalled on the Big Read's War and Peace. This is because I have been allowed to go (and I'm picking my words carefully) to a Book Group. Hurrah. Although I have some fears as I am NOT enjoying Jacob's Room. I'm just really not fond of modernism. I quite like to read the story, and understand what's happening to the characters. Maybe I'm just a traditionalist at heart!
