Blood tests
In case anyone was holding their breath waiting (in which case they've probably expired, and I extend my apologies to their nearest and dearest), there is nothing wrong with me at all. Apart from being very tired, and generally run down. I need Christmas!
Return of the vicks...
Hum along now, everyone.
Has it really been so long? Well, yes, obviously, because there are no blog entries appearing between here and 24th October. Which is a
bad thing. I shall, as ever, try to improve.
So, what's the deal? I went to
Birmingham University yesterday, to talk to students about careers in the law. The last time I was on campus was when I graduated from there in 1991, and I think I only ever went into the Great Hall for the graduation ceremony. Unless I had an exam in there. But it's a long time ago and my brain has addled with the years. Anyway, the point is that on the one hand nothing has changed. Aside from the few new buildings, it all looks reassuringly the same. But on the other hand, everything has changed, and I'm so not the person I was when I left. It was strange and bizarre.
But the irritating thing about the day was that the person I went with was late for the train in the morning, leaving me to travel up on my own (not a hardship - I;d kind of expected it, and bought myself a book accordingly!). But whilst I went first class in an old train (about which I am not complaining), by dint of being late, she got to travel on a sooper-dooper new
Virgin Train. How jealous was I? Bah humbug.
